Hey, so, uh, let’s talk about this rally thing, right? It’s about Romet Jürgenson. Ever heard of him? Probably not, unless you’re super into rally stuff. Anyway, dude just wrapped up in Portugal — got 7th place, which is, like, decent, I guess? Now he’s all pumped for this thing happening on some gravel tracks in Sardinia. Honestly, though, gravel? Sounds like a recipe for chaos.
Anyway, Jürgenson, who’s from Estonia (never been but heard it’s neat), said Portugal was a “learning curve.” Which is kinda what people say when they mess up but wanna sound smart. But Sunday? Oh man, he says they started matching the others. Encouraging, right? Or maybe they just got lucky — who knows.
Okay, so June 5th, mark your calendars if you’re into watching cars speed over tiny roads with rocks lurking at every corner. Apparently, this Sardinia gig is a big deal. More hazards and all that jazz, so you gotta be sharp. It’s not Portugal, he warns us. Sardinia’s tough — like, don’t sneeze while driving or you might end up hugging a tree branch or something.
This will be their fourth WRC2 outing. WRC2, by the way, is like a stepping stone, I think? So, yeah, these guys are basically slicing open narrow paths in Sardinia with the M-Sport Ford Fiesta… maybe it’ll go smoothly. Or maybe… not? High competition, yada yada, lots of fast drivers around. Bring popcorn.
Jürgenson’s got this confidence thing going, like he took some magic beans or something. He’s talking about being quicker right off the bat. “Consistent pace,” he says. Sure. Let’s hope he doesn’t jinx it. They want to mimic that miraculous Sunday performance from Portugal, remember?
The season, though — he’s got plans. Closing gaps, day by day, inch by inch. Somehow everyone’s cheering for him. His team sounds cool, like one of those unlikely hero stories. Oh, and there’s some rivalry in the team, a guy named Pierre Louis Loubet who’s, like, super fast. Jürgenson wants to beat him or at least not trail embarrassingly — who wouldn’t?
Now, this M-Sport crew seems like a friendly bunch, everyone’s bonding, having fun with gears and grease (or not). Management’s friendly? That’s rare. They’re all pulling together to get closer to the ‘top guys’— who are these mysterious top guys anyway? Elite rally ninjas?
There’s this FIA Rally Star initiative thing… some kind of talent search. Jürgenson’s part of it, like a junior version before he jumped to WRC2. He’s their shining hope or something. Sardinia is just another milestone in this turbocharged journey of thrills and — oh wait, dust.
The event runs June 5-8, 2025. If you’re in Italy around then, check it out. Sardinia’s allegedly charming. Meanwhile, cars will be doing their thing on tricky tracks, battling heat, rocks, and who knows what else. Keep fingers crossed for our guy Jürgenson.
Well, guess that’s it? Until next gravel showdown, anyway. Maybe I’ll try driving crazy through some dirt road nearby. Or not.
