Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are gearing up to duke it out in what everyone’s calling the “Fight of the Century.” Seriously, they’re throwing down on September 13, 2025, over at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas. Now, don’t ask me why they picked that day – everyone’s got their reasons, I suppose. It’s a super middleweight showdown. Crawford? He’s been holding down the WBA super welterweight and WBO interim super welterweight titles. Pretty wild, right?
Anyway — backtrack a bit — before these guys actually start throwing punches, they’ve gotta do this whole song and dance around the globe. A promo tour, I mean. Imagine that! It all kicks off today, June 20, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And yeah, it’s 2:30 p.m. ET if you’re counting. Seems like a good spot to start since Turki Alalshikh is funding the whole shebang. Big bucks — no surprise there.
So, after Riyadh, next up is New York on June 22. Then, they’re heading to Vegas on June 27. Talk about a whirlwind.
Now, Canelo — he’s got a record of 63-2-2. Just beat William Scull back in May. But folks weren’t too thrilled about that match. Why? I don’t know, maybe it was a bit of a snooze fest. Everybody’s a critic these days. Turki, though? He’s not having it. Wants things to be exciting, you know?
Crawford’s another story. Undefeated with a 41-0 record. Last seen handling Israel Madrimov in August 2024. Wasn’t a knockout, just a unanimous decision. Snapped his streak of 11 straight KOs, so he’s hungry for something huge. Wants to join those legends up top. Like, really wants it.
