Yeah, so here I am rambling about this fight. Honestly, I stumbled upon Tim Elliott and his whole UFC 319 gig, and man, it’s mostly about his opponent, Kai Asakura. Strange, right? But, that’s just how it goes. Tim’s been around — before and after USADA, whatever that is — and this time he’s on the Pay-Per-View bit thanks to Kai. Dude’s kind of the ticket, you could say. Tim’s like, practically thanking Kai ‘cause without him, he’s mostly chillin’ in the non-PPV zone. Got it?
Anyway, Kai Asakura’s got his story too — this whole came-from-RIZIN thing, snagged a title shot right away against Pantoja. Didn’t work out though. He blames it on switching from a ring to a cage. Fair point, I guess? Tim sort of gets it, thinking yeah, maybe he’d feel off too fighting in a ring after all cage fights. But then he does this flip and says, nah, it’s not the cage or ring that decides the winning or losing. Like, what even? Side note: Kai got guillotined — ouch — and Tim’s like, how’s the cage at fault for that mess?
Switching gears, Tim’s learning a whole cultural lesson from Kai’s home crowd — Japan. These fans, apparently super chill and polite. Unlike, you know, some rowdy ones. Makes him want to jet off to Japan, like asap, just to see what all the fuss is about. And maybe even do a sumo thing with Kai. Why not? Tim’s all into wrestling on the beach and stuff, so that checks out.
It’s kinda refreshing, he says, having these fans just there for the fighting spirit, no side drama. It’s pure, I guess you could say, focusing just on the brawl and nothing else. Which is cool. So yeah, that’s Tim Elliott’s vibe before UFC 319 at the United Center in Chicago, August 16, 2025. Oh, and apparently there’s a full media day appearance clip somewhere. Might give that a watch. Or not, who knows.
