Sure thing. Here’s a rewritten version of the article:

Hey folks,
Just throwing out some morning thoughts before I hit the golf course. So, apparently, Arsenal and Leandro Trossard are chatting about a new contract. Weirdly, they’re not extending the term—just bumping his pay. Strange, right? I mean, usually when a player gets a raise, they stick around longer. Guess there are rumors of some Saudi clubs sniffing around. Maybe it’s to fend them off.
Now, you might be thinking, “If they’re eyeing new wide players, does this mean bye-bye Trossard or Martinelli?” But Arteta mentioned something about wanting a larger squad just last week. Could be a sign we’re keeping Trossard and still adding more guys.
Oh, and with Sterling probably heading back to Chelsea and Nelson leaving after a loan, an extra wide player doesn’t seem like the worst idea. More players, more options. That’s the plan, I guess.
So, who do we have so far? Left side: Trossard, Martinelli. On the right: Saka, Nwaneri, Martinelli again because why not, right?
Anyway, was listening to Arsecast yesterday. And, yes—left side upgrade screams as crucial as a new striker. Trossard and Martinelli are decent, but “just fine” doesn’t win titles.
Check out their stats—Trossard’s got 55 appearances, 10 goals, and 9 assists. Martinelli’s done 50 matches, 10 goals, 6 assists. Good, but not “wow,” you know? Need more Saka-like magic on that side.
Now, Trossard’s versatile, can play centrally too. I like him—when he’s on, he’s really on. Sure, inconsistent at times, but hey, who isn’t? Martinelli, talk is he could be center-forward. Arteta doesn’t seem keen, though. Wide position seems safe for him.
So, thinking forward. Next season’s lineup for battles in Premier League and beyond? Well, maybe something like: Left—Trossard, Martinelli, and a new fancy signing. Right—Saka, Nwaneri, Martinelli. Center-forward has to be another shiny new fellow, Havertz, and Trossard in the mix. Gabriel Jesus will be back, too. Not a bad extra option, though he’ll need time post-injury.
Then there’s Nwaneri. What’s his gig next season? Saka’s backup, or midfield magic-maker? Hard to say. He’s got potential on the right, but do we need a new creative midfielder? Arteta hinted at making way for this young gun. Odegaard shouldered a lot last season. When he was out or needed rest, options were limited. Nwaneri could step up.
So, getting that extra wide player seems vital. No wonder Arsenal wants to keep Trossard. He’s 30—and yeah, that’s the last chance for a solid fee. Either cash in now or let him walk for free like Jorginho and Partey soon.
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got today. Rough night’s sleep, so fingers crossed for my golf swing. Check out Arsecast below. And there’s a Southampton preview podcast on Patreon later.
Cheers,
