Oh wow, so here’s the thing. President Trump—yeah, that guy—is set to drop some news about the 2027 NFL Draft heading to Washington, D.C. Come Monday afternoon, you can expect some hullabaloo around this whole sports announcement thing at 1 p.m. No clue why it’s Monday, but that’s what I heard.
Imagine that—a draft on the National Mall. Sounds kinda neat, right? Josh Harris, who owns the Washington team, and Roger Goodell, big cheese of the NFL, are supposed to be there. I wonder if they like each other, or if it’s just for show. Seems like a big deal since the Commanders are on their way back to D.C. Too bad they’ve been hanging out in Maryland since ’97. Finally, they’re putting down roots at the old RFK Stadium spot. Which by the way, won’t be ready until like 2030 or something – not exactly around the corner.
Drafts bouncing from one city to another has been a thing since they quit holding it at Radio City in NYC in 2015. It’s been all over—Chicago, Philly, Nashville, even Las Vegas. That Vegas draft… I wonder if the gambling folks had a field day? Anyway, Green Bay pulled in a whopping 600,000 folks just last time. That’s a lot of cheeseheads. And Pittsburgh’s on deck for 2026, if you’re keeping track.
D.C. and Denver both threw their hats in for 2027. Both rooting hard, I’d bet. Actually, D.C. was in the running for 2024 but got beat by Detroit. Ouch.
Trump, well, he’s had his ups and downs with the NFL. Remember those tense times during his first term? Awkward. But hey, he was at the Super Bowl in February, so maybe things are cooling off? Who can say?
Anyway, this story is still unfolding, so who knows what twists are next. Just keep your eyes peeled.
