Tuesday, April 29
Okay, so here’s the deal: 9:00 AM, Usyk vs Dubois 2. They’re doing their press shindig, right? It’s like, this heavyweight chaos finally gets some closure on July 19. But first, there’s this launch thing at Wembley. Why do I obsess over dates? No clue. But yeah, everyone’s buzzing for this summer showdown!
Then, bam! At 2:00 PM, it’s Canelo vs Scull making their grand entrance. Thinking about it, grand arrivals are kind of like those awkward high school dances. You show up, look around, hope nobody notices your nerves… or maybe that’s just me.
Towards the evening, 6:00 PM, we’ve got Garcia vs Romero all sweaty and working out. Open workouts are kind of like watching someone else do chores, funnily enough. You’re just standing there, popcorn in hand, nodding away.
Wednesday, April 30
Oh, mid-week now. 2:00 PM, Canelo and Scull are back for their workouts. Can’t help but wonder if they have matching gym gear. Because unity, right?
Fast forward to evening, 6:00 PM, and it’s Garcia vs Romero getting serious at their press conference. These events could use more drama. Maybe a dramatic monologue or two? Who knows.
Thursday, May 1
Starting to blur the days. But it’s Thursday, May 1, believe it or not. 2:00 PM, another press meeting, this time for Canelo vs Scull. Might as well throw in a guessing game about tie colors or something to spice it up!
Then it’s 6:00 PM and everyone’s watching Garcia vs Romero weigh in. Oddly fascinating, like watching your luggage weighed at the airport. Will it go over? Will there be fees? Suspense!
Friday, May 2
Zooming into Friday. Weigh-in takes spotlight at 2:00 PM. Canelo and Scull, facing off with scales in the spotlight. You almost expect someone to shout, “Step right up, folks!”
Later, 4:00 PM, Inoue vs Cardenas talk the talk—they’re doing their press thing. By now, I guess it’s all scripted, with maybe a hint of improv?
Finally, 5:30 PM, the biggie: Ryan Garcia and Rolly Romero. Garcia’s back, drug-test drama in the rearview. Feels a bit like a soap opera. Who writes these stories, anyway? And what’s up with Haney? And Ramirez, both welterweights now. It’s a welterweight thing, I suppose. Meanwhile, Teofimo Lopez is keeping 140 lbs guarded against Arnold Barboza Jr. That one’s the real gem, I’d wager. Oh, and don’t even get me started on Teo’s press antics. Priceless!
Saturday, May 3
Weekend warriors are on! 4:00 PM weigh-in for Inoue vs Cardenas. Kind of a roll call in the boxing world. If you made it through the week, here’s your cookie.
6:45 PM, though, Canelo vs Scull grabs the spotlight again. Canelo’s reclaiming glory at 168 lbs, hoping for a Crawford showdown soon. There’s a list of undercard action that almost feels like a rush hour playlist. Surace and Munguia, Jack and Mikaeljan, Bakole and Ajagba, and hey, Marco Verde’s debut! Each name, a different note in this fight symphony.
Sunday, May 4
Rounding things off. 6:15 PM for prelims of Inoue vs Cardenas. Names like Ra’eese Aleem, Rohan Polanco, and Emiliano Vargas dot the card. Yeah, they’re hitting the canvas.
Finally, 10:00 PM takes the stage. Naoya Inoue’s waving hello to the US crowds again. Vegas won’t sleep, with Cardenas trying his luck at 122 lbs. Classic boxing fate, it seems. Inoue may be eyeing a summer getaway with Akhmadaliev if he sails through — who wouldn’t want a job with travel benefits? Meanwhile, Espinoza vs Vazquez close this wild ride. Boxers sure know how to handle a busy weekend. And scene!
