Tallon Griekspoor continued his impressive run, having previously upset top seed Alexander Zverev, by taking down 29th-seeded Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Griekspoor’s performance was bolstered by 10 aces, and he twice broke the formidable serve of Mpetshi Perricard during the match.
Local favorite, Marcos Giron, fought back to overcome Alexei Popyrin with scores of 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Despite Popyrin struggling to convert his 15 break points, Giron advanced to his first fourth-round appearance in this tournament.
