So, apparently, the 76ers decided to bring on Colin Castleton with a 10-day contract. Who knows why they blinked his way, but here we are. Now, this guy, he’s been bouncing around a bit. Played 20 games this season— yeah, it’s a mix between Memphis and Toronto. He starts, he doesn’t start, who can keep up? Four starts to be exact, if you’re counting. Anyways, averaging a neat 4.2 points and rebounds each. I mean, talk about consistency, right?
His game against Philadelphia in March where he got 14 rebounds – not too shabby, huh? Then right after, he put up a nice 13 points at Utah. Coincidence those happened back to back? Maybe. Or he’s just that guy who decides to shine unexpectedly.
Once upon a time—last July, actually—he was scooped by the Lakers on a two-way contract. He didn’t exactly set the world on fire, but there were glimpses, you know? Like, he managed 3 points a game, shooting 45.8%. Almost half of his shots went in – that’s gotta count for something. And he grabbed 2.6 rebounds, which sounds oddly specific but slightly underwhelming.
Fast forward to his G League days (was it more dramatic? Less? Hard to tell). Anyway, he tours with Raptors 905, Osceola Magic, Memphis Hustle. Quite the G League globetrotter, isn’t he? Averaging 18.2 points, knocking down 59.1% of his shots, and grabbing 10.5 rebounds a game. 1.1 blocks too. Feels like I’m reading off a stat sheet, but that’s the life of a basketball journeyman, I guess.
I mean, hats off to Inside Hoops for keeping tabs on all this. They’re like the basketball gossiper but in sporty form. But really – keeping up with all these guys? It’s like trying to catch confetti in a windstorm. Anyway, there’s your daily dose of hoops intel. Or at least mine.
