A fresh chapter in Ohio’s MMA scene unfolded tonight as Carnage Fight Series 1 took center stage at the Putnam County Event Center in Ottawa. It was an evening filled with thrilling bouts and some memorable finishes that set the bar high for future events.

Headlining the card, Quintin Richards maintained his unbeaten streak, pushing his professional record to a perfect 4-0. His victory came via an arm bar over a hardy Caleb Contreras. The match seemed set for an early conclusion when Richards nearly cinched a D’arce choke in the first round. However, Contreras showed remarkable resilience, escaping the hold and turning the tables in round two. It was in this round that he even managed to land a solid right hand, causing a nosebleed for the favorite. Nevertheless, the match found its way to the mat again, where Richards spectacularly locked in an unexpected arm bar, securing the win.

In a thrilling co-main event, Chris Porter broke his two-fight losing streak by forcing Jeremy Balboa to tap out with a guillotine choke, just shy of the first round’s end. Porter began his assault with a potent body hook followed by a flying knee after a referee break. Balboa, in an attempt to recover, aimed for a takedown but found himself caught in Porter’s perfectly executed guillotine, resulting in a victory for Porter.

Brayden Benson returned to winning ways, rebounding from his first career loss by capturing his second amateur title. He claimed a first-round TKO victory against Nate LaRocco. Benson wasted no time, taking the fight to the ground with his wrestling prowess, landing substantial strikes to seal the deal.

The crowd witnessed a knockout streak, highlighted by Alex Ryle’s fierce strikes that ended Kole Wymer’s night in the second round. Their bout became an outright brawl that had fans on their feet.

Juan Silva grabbed the second victory of his career, delivering a precision counter left hook that switched off Keyshon Osborne’s lights in round two.

Seth Peoples made an impressive statement in his amateur debut. He unleashed a devastating straight right hand that put Dalton Limes out in just 27 seconds.

Meanwhile, Shawn Freeman avenged an earlier career setback by submitting Austin Roberts with a standing guillotine merely 1:06 into the opening round.

Colton Hensley continued his winning momentum, needing just 43 seconds to secure his third consecutive victory by submitting James Gibson with a rear-naked choke. Post-fight, he shared the exciting news of his upcoming fatherhood and showed interest in challenging the victor of the evening’s welterweight title bout.

Bryson Jones made a remarkable entrance into the amateur scene, achieving a win with a second-round mounted guillotine after narrowly missing an early finish with the same move.

The night’s curtain-raiser saw JD McNett earn a unanimous decision over Will Chiow, using his wrestling skills to contain his opponent. McNett announced his intentions to turn pro with this win, ending his amateur standing with a record of 5-3.
