Whoa, okay, so Austin Reaves. This guy’s really making a splash, huh? Declines this huge four-year, $89.2 million extension from the Lakers. That’s some serious cash, right? But nah, he says no thanks. I mean, who does that? But then, maybe he’s got a plan. Or maybe he just likes taking risks. Who knows.
So yeah, some execs are chatting with ESPN, saying he’ll probably snag $30 million or more soon. Like, wow. That’s a couple of zeros I can’t even wrap my head around. But hey, if they believe it, who am I to argue?
Oh, and get this – he was undrafted! Like, absolutely nobody picked him, and then suddenly, he’s almost an All-Star. Last season, he was putting up 20.2 points and 5.8 assists. I don’t know about you, but I find that pretty wild. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s quite the leap, right?
Anyway, a coach from the Western Conference was all, “Big season for him.” So vague, yet so loaded, man. He better rock those playoffs. Or so they say, ’cause he’s supposed to click with Doncic. And I’m just here sipping tea, wondering if that’s pressure or motivation. Or both? Yeah, probably both.
BTW, Aaron Reilly’s the guy representing him. No idea what that means for Reaves, but I guess having someone savvy in your corner can’t hurt, can it?
