Friday afternoon, I’m cruising down US 31. You know, that road where everything kinda blurs by in a mishmash of scenery? Anyway, I finally decided to pull over at Petoskey Golf Center. It’s funny, I always zoom past, head high with to-do lists. But today? I figured, why not add a detour?
So, I wander in, and it’s like stepping into a golfer’s dream. Erik Schleicher – the guy running the show – has this place decked out. Clubs everywhere, balls in colors I didn’t even know existed. And the prices? Not bad. Almost snagged a Ping Four Wood but, well, budget discipline or whatever won the day.
There’s more than just shopping, though. Three simulator bays – think of them as virtual reality but for golf – and a lil’ putting green. Erik’s giving lessons, and you get this feeling like, “Hey, maybe I should work on that swing… or not.”
He’s got a real toolkit too: custom club fitting, regripping, loft and lie tweaks – clearly someone who lives for this stuff. Prices? Let’s just say you won’t need to sell a kidney.
Oh, big news! Erik mentioned, they’re packing up for a new, bigger spot sometime this winter. Just around the corner. I mean, a fresh start, right?
So if you’re floating around and your gear needs some love, or you just wanna chat golf, swing by and see Erik.
Petoskey Golf Center. Cheers!
