Top 10 Small Forwards in the 2025 NBA Draft

Sure, here’s my take on this:

—

So, the 2025 NBA Draft – wild times, right? Some folks are jotting notes about the small forward class this year, and trust me, it’s a rollercoaster. We’re talkin’ top-tier talent and depth that could give the shooting guards a run for their money. No big deal, just folks like Ace Bailey, Kon Knueppel, and Egor Demin lighting up the headlines. These guys are not just about bouncing a ball—they’re explosive athletes, snipers, and defensive beasts. Imagining as many as eight of these dudes going in the first round? Yep, it’s that kind of draft.

Alright, let’s dive into Ace Bailey. Rutgers freshman, 19.4 years old – if precise numbers float your boat. This guy’s a walking highlight reel. At 6’9″ (give or take), with a wingspan that could grab snacks off the top shelf, he’s thrilling to watch when he zips down the court. Though, here’s the catch: his motor? Sometimes more of a flicker than a flame. He’s all potential wrapped in a mystery, like that unopened bag of chips at the back of your pantry. But if you’ve got patience, Bailey might just repay you with superstar moments.

Kon Knueppel, on the other hand, is Mr. Reliable. Duke’s pride and joy, killing it from behind the arc at nearly 46%. Not the springiest guy—his vertical leap barely peaks at 33.5″—but hey, the man’s got footwork and smarts. It’s like if Ace Bailey is a dash of cayenne pepper, Kon is that trusty salt you keep reaching for. Predictable? Maybe. Effective? You bet.

Egor Demin? Now that’s a name you don’t forget easily. He spent time learning the ropes at Real Madrid (yes, in Russia, don’t ask). Standing about 6’9″, Egor’s all finesse and silky passes, though his scoring touch could use a little TLC—those three-point numbers are as shaky as that one-legged table in your garage. But his playmaking? Chef’s kiss. Intriguing long-term, definitely a wait-and-see kind of prospect.

Next, Drake Powell—defensive powerhouse, North Carolina stunner. With a jump that’d make a kangaroo jealous, his defensive antics are pure gold. Offense? Still finding his rhythm, but the guy’s fiery potential is like a match waiting for a spark.

Carter Bryant is the wild card. An all-or-nothing kind of guy. Uneven performances make you wonder: Is he going to dazzle or fizzle? Arizona saw shades of magic in him, but he needs consistency like I need my morning coffee.

And there’s Liam McNeeley, UConn’s pride. A shooter with brains to match, though not the flashiest. His three-point touch could make the difference, but his athletic punch lacks oomph—like shaking an empty soda can hoping for a fizz.

Cedric Coward is the seasoned vet of the bunch. Washington State alum, peppered with injury drama. Some label him a hidden gem, others aren’t so sure. Still, he’s versatile, playing with a metrics sheet that draws curious stares. But does six games of brilliance count for much? Your guess is as good as mine.

Oh, and Noah Penda, the French dynamo. Not the guy hogging the spotlight, but a glue guy, a player teammates love. His defense? Rock solid. Shooting? Still a work in progress, but if he finds his range, he’s essential squad material.

Micah Peavy and Jaxson Robinson round out the troupe. Peavy’s been around the block, showing off his grit and 3-and-D potential. Ready to jump in and make a difference—but at nearly 24, is there room to grow?

Jaxson, with his endless wingspan, might need stability more than anything else. Loads of talent, sharp shooting, but it’s been a winding journey to get here, bouncing from school to school.

And there you have it, a kaleidoscope of talent lined up for the draft. It’s chaotic, unpredictable, but hey, what’s sports without a bit of madness?

How’s that for a glimpse into the draft chaos?
