Deion Sanders’ family has once again made headlines, but this time it’s about one of his sons being overlooked by the NFL Combine. Surprisingly, it’s not the Sanders you’re probably thinking of.
The NFL released the complete roster of invitees for its esteemed annual scouting combine in Indianapolis, showcasing the talents of 329 players. Among those named is Shedeur Sanders, poised as one of the top draft picks, and one of the 15 quarterbacks extended an invite.
However, amid the 56 defensive backs chosen, another Sanders didn’t make the list. Shilo Sanders, Deion’s second-oldest son, found himself missing from this year’s lineup.
Shilo, a safety, carved out his college journey starting at South Carolina in 2019, moving to Jackson State in 2021 under his father’s guidance, and ultimately transferring to Colorado in 2023. During the Buffaloes’ 2024 season, the 25-year-old racked up 67 tackles, one sack, grabbed two fumbles, and defended two passes.
In a recent appearance at the East-West Shrine Bowl, Shilo showcased his skills but received mixed evaluations. A particularly talked-about clip captured him struggling with coverage, which quickly circulated online.
