The New Orleans Pelicans have brought center Kylor Kelley on board with a 10-day contract. Standing at 7 feet tall and weighing 230 pounds, Kelley has shown his potential in previous stints. Earlier this season, he took to the court for Dallas in eight games, starting in one. Throughout those appearances, he averaged 3 points and 2.6 rebounds in just over 8 minutes of play per game.
Last season, Kelley demonstrated his skills with the G League’s South Bay Lakers, playing in 32 games. He managed to score an average of 11.5 points, grab 7.3 rebounds, dish out 1.6 assists, and block an average of 2.5 shots per game.
Hailing from Gervais, Oregon, Kelley made a name for himself by being named to the NBA G League All-Defensive Team in the 2023-24 season after topping the league charts in blocks per game with 2.86, notching up a total of 83 for the season. His defensive prowess was also recognized during his college years at Oregon State, earning him a place on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team in both 2019 and 2020.
With the addition of Kelley, the Pelicans’ roster has expanded to 19 players, which includes three two-way players.
